Alligator Adventure is home to dozens of rare and unusual reptiles. "Spot", the giant Alligator Snapping Turtle, lies motionless underwater with jaws agape wiggling his pink wormlike tongue in hopes of attracting an unwary fish. This, the largest of the freshwater turtles, can weigh nearly 200 lbs. The odd Mata Mata Turtle with it's flattened leaf-like head also resides in the exhibit as does the rare Pig Nosed Turtle that has flippers like a sea turtle but lives in fresh water.
Many species of lizards can also be seen including the deadly Gila Monster, one of the world's only two venomous lizards, and the prehistoric looking Rhinoceros Iguana.
Additionally, many varied and colorful frogs and toads supply their own natural decoration to the facility. All specimens on display are cared for by expert keepers and are in robust health.
